VW Splitscreen, Bay Window and T25 / T3 restoration and repair specialist

History

Rob Fearn has been involved in the VW scene for some 30 years, attending earlier VW shows such as VW Action at Stoneleigh, Bug-In at Malvern, also attending the first Bug Jam at Santa Pod (now in its 26th year!). This led to visiting various VW shows in Europe, such as Le Bug Show at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium, and a regular pilgrimage to Hockenheim in Germany to the famous Tuning Treffen, where you can see many Porsche powered buses negotiating the F1 circuit.

Having owned many VW’s from an early age (first car was a red Baja bug!) the result was to find a job working on his passion. After serving an apprenticeship in steel fabrication and sheetmetal work Rob then gained employment restoring VW’s.

Mainly Beetles in the early days (body off restorations the norm) then splitscreen buses, bay windows, later specialising in the T25/T3, Rob has worked on most models, inc Karmann Ghia T1 & T3 and then onto the T4 and T5 transporters. Having a keen interest in Porsche powered buses the inevitable was to happen which resulted in Rob moving into restoring Porsche 911’s and the odd 944.

Whether its a rat look sun bleached import you need narrowing, slamming and some satin lacquer applied to preserve the look, or alternatively you have a brand new T5 ‘sportline’ you need windows, insulating and carpet lining fitted to get you to the beach fast, or your classic 3.2 911 Carrera has rotten sills and kidney bowls and your toying with the idea of a retro conversion,
